Professional Interest: After I receive my degree, I aspire to work for a large brand, department store, or small start-up as a Merchandising Assistant or continue my work as an Assistant Buyer. I realized buying was the path I wanted to go while at my last long-term job Forever 21. There I was promoted to visual assistant and learned the standards and what merchandising truly is, how our product assortment directly affects sales/customer engagement and how it plays a large role in the retail industries success. My classes at ODU in the fashion department have helped me to gain a well-rounded base of the elements of fashion and this will help me be ready to continue my progress in the field.

Personal Interest:  Outside of classes, I currently work as a

full-time Assistant Buyer at the Coast Guard Exchange Headquarters. This job allows me to continue to build on my skills, invest myself in the rich culture of our community, and work alongside fellow amazingly experienced career individuals while servicing our men & woman in uniform. I love to study art, try new foods and read up on new fashion, interior design and consumer trends when I have free time.
